Solar Fridge Fan
SOLAR FRIDGE FAN
With thermostatic temperature control.
Features:
- Huge 120mm fan diameter to give maximum air movement.
- Transparent fan to make it easy to hide in some applications.
- Super quiet fan to prevent any annoying noise.
- Generous 3.5 meters of power cable.
- Connecting plug will go through 10mm hole for easy fitting.
- Powerful 2.6W resin solar panel made thin & durable.
- Fixed brass eyelets for secure screw fixing.
- Sensitive thermostatic switch ON at 35°C & OFF at 25°C
These solar fans have been specifically designed for use in camper vans, caravans & motorhomes under Australian conditions, however they also lend themselves well to other ventilation applications.
The thermostatic switch can easily be bypassed with the use of a simple paper clip as a jumper if required.
Fridges inside caravans & motor homes suffer very poor efficiency in hot conditions causing them to struggle with maintaining cold temperatures & soaking up lots of extra power trying to maintain the desired cold temperature. By using one of these solar fridge fans positioned behind the fridge it greatly increases the movement of air allowing the fridge motor & cooling coils to function much better, this gives the fridge a huge increase in cooling efficiency, thereby taking a lot of working pressure off the fridge, gaining cooler internal conditions & saving vital power.
The thermostatic switch is designed to vastly extend the life of the solar fan. Without the switch the fan would operate all day every day during sun light. This is generally quite unnecessary when in cool climatic conditions, in fact without the thermostatic switch the solar fan can make conditions unpleasantly cold by drawing in cold outside temperatures. The thermostatic switch is designed to switch ON at 35°C & remain on until the internal temperature drops back to a pleasant 25°C for it to switch OFF.
Installation:
It is recommend placing your solar panel flat on the roof of your caravan/motorhome where is will receive the most direct sun light for the day. It can be secured by using silicone glue or screwed down through the brass eyelets on all four corners. The power cable can be fitted by drilling a 10mm hole into your caravan/motorhome in a convenient location close to the back of the fridge. Seal this hole with silicone after fitting cable. Generally it is best if the fan is fitted in the cavity behind the fridge, near the bottom blowing air upwards but it can also be fitted vertically over the bottom wall air vent drawing air in or fitted to the top wall air vent extracting hot air out. It is important the rear cavity is fairly well sealed to allow a good movement of air created by the fan.
